Stone Soup

Make Stone Soup
Have each child bring in a vegetable. Wash a stone large enough that it will not get lost in the soup pot. Have children wash and chop the vegetables for the soup. Add vegetables to a large pot with enough water to cover all the ingredients; or add chicken broth (about 6 cans) or a mixture of water and chicken broth, or bouillon cubes and water, a little salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer until vegetables are done. Serve with bread or pita bread.

Design Your Own Jolly Roger
Ships use different flags to signal other ships and identifying themselves. The “Jolly Roger” flag was flown to identify a pirate ship about to attack.
Jolly Roger
Need: 1 piece of drawing paper, 1 sheet of red, white, or black construction paper, 3 pieces of felt ( red, white, black), a stick.
Design a pirate flag that tells something about you. Pick something you are interested in or good at to include on your pirate flag. For example: if you like the guitar include guitars on your pirate flag instead of crossbows. Also include on your flag pirate symbols: skulls, skeletons, crossbones, cutlasses, hourglasses.
First draw your design on the drawing paper. Then cut your design out of felt and glue onto construction paper. After your pirates flag is dry tape it to a stick.

The polar bears diet consists of high fat but without any water. Polar bears do not drink water, the get the liquid they need from the prey they eat. Most of the drinkable freshwater is frozen. Polar bears are carnivores which means their diet is meat but they will occasionally eat plants. Their diet must consist of a lot of meat. Polar bears dine mainly on ringed and bearded seals. Seals live under the ice, a polar bear will find a seal air hole and sit by the air hole until a seal comes up to breathe then they grab the seal out of the hole.
